Postdoctoral researcher (m/w/d)

Unternehmen: Klinikum der Universität MünchenArbeitszeitmodell: VollzeitArbeitsort: München (DE)Stellenbeschreibung:The NEVIA Lab is dedicated to advancing the science of social interaction. The team investigates the neural and behavioural dynamics of social interaction, focusing on nonverbal communication, social cue processing, and interpersonal coordination. Using portable neurotechnologies, portable eye tracking, motion tracking, and computer vision methods, we study both typical development (with a strong focus on adolescence) and atypical social behaviours in clinical populations, including in autism, ADHD, and other conditions affecting social behaviour (e.g., chronic depression, Borderline personality disorder). Our interdisciplinary approach bridges social cognitive neuroscience, clinical psychology, and data science to improve the understanding and assessment of social functioning.

Your role:

· Conduct and support interdisciplinary research at the intersection of cognitive neuroscience, psychology, and portable technology
· Support data analysis, method development, and clinical collaborations. Specifically, apply and analyse data from portable EEG (potentially fNIRS), portable eye-tracking, physiological wearables, computer vision, and related areas
· Develop and implement advanced analytical approaches using programming and data science tools (e.g., Python, R)
· Co-supervise and mentor PhD, MD, Master's, and Bachelor's students
· Contribute to publications and grant applications to further advance research in the field
· Develop your own research ideas, with the possibility of starting to build your own team
· Potential for Habilitation, an advanced qualification in the German academic system that enables independent teaching and can serve as a pathway to professorship

Your profile:

· You have a PhD in cognitive neuroscience, psychology, data science, engineering or a related field.

· You have good quantitative skills and programming skills (e.g. Python, R).
· You have experience with wearable technology, digital phenotyping, wearable sensors and/or computer vision methods.
· You demonstrate an interest in clinical and translational research and the ability to work closely with clinicians.
· You demonstrate fluency in English (knowledge of German is not required, but a willingness to learn basic German is an advantage).
· You are a proactive thinker with independent problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new methodologies as required.
· You have strong communication skills, especially when supervising students and working in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.
· You are familiar with technological challenges and innovative research methods.

Our offer

What we offer:
· Flexible working conditions in a dynamic and supportive research environment.
· You will have the opportunity to help shape and work on several research projects.
· You will be given plenty of scope to develop your own project ideas and foster academic independence.
· You will have various funding opportunities for postdoctoral researchers (e.g. start-up funding for new projects) offered by the University and the Faculty of Medicine.
· You will have the opportunity for habilitation, a step towards independent scientific leadership.
· You will be offered a competitive position at E14 level, based on public sector pay scales in Germany, in a highly attractive and dynamic research environment (see https://www.mcn.uni-muenchen.de/members/index.html).
