Multiple PhD positions (f/m/d)
Aufgaben:
- On various topics in the field of computational and theoretical chemistry.
- Multiscale simulations of stimuli-responsive functional materials
- Computational Surface Chemistry/Physics
- Computation Photochemistry and Spectroscopy
- Atomistic investigations of porous materials (e.g. MOF, COFs, cages)
- Investigation of structural and dynamic properties of molecular switches and machines
- Development and application of evolutionary algorithms, neural networks and machine learning for modeling, evaluation and visualization of dynamic phenomena
- Development of quantum chemical electronic structure methods and QM/MM schemes
Qualifikationen:
- ¾ Successfully completed undergraduate studies (M.Sc. or equivalent) in chemistry, physics or a related field
- Experience in at least one of the following areas is needed: computational chemistry/physics, multiscale simulations, or the application of machine learning, neural networks, and evolutionary algorithms
- Ideally experience in working with quantum chemistry and/or molecular mechanics software packages and programming
- High motivation to learn, develop and apply new theoretical methods to pursue studies in chemistry, physics, or materials science is required
- Interest in scientific collaboration and exchange with experimental groups
- Ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a team
- Good communication skills in English, both oral and written
