Ihre Aufgaben:
- optimizing the beamline concept and optical components with respect to the best exploitation of the beam properties of PETRA IV
- commissioning and managing the beamline after the start of PETRA IV
- further development of sample environments and diffraction techniques
- supporting the P07 team during the design and construction phase of the successor beamline
- carrying out research within the framework of our R&D program
- publishing results and presenting them at national and international conferences
Das bringen Sie mit:
- university degree and PhD in physics, materials science or a related discipline
- experience with the design and operation of a synchrotron beamline
- experience with high-energy X-ray diffraction for engineering materials research, experience with SAXS will be an asset
- experience with X-ray optical components (e.g. lenses, monochromators)
- programming skills in Python
- excellent communication skills
- excellent oral and written English skills, good German language skills
