Senior Researcher (m/f/d) Automotive Cybersecurity

The CARISSMA Institute of Electric, Connected and Secure Mobility (C-ECOS) focuses on safe electromobility and accident analysis, Car2X communication in connection with intelligent transport systems and cyber-physical systems as well as automotive IT security. Aufgaben:
- Research and Development in the area of automotive cybersecurity: Conduct advanced research on cybersecurity solutions tailored to the automotive industry, including Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), design of security controls, design of test concepts, and penetration testing
- Mentorship and Supervision: Mentor and coordinate junior researchers and graduate students, providing guidance on cybersecurity research methodologies and techniques relevant to automotive applications.
- Research Grants: Preparing research proposals and grant applications to secure funding for cybersecurity projects.
- Cooperation with other research groups: Work closely with other research groups in the research center CARISSMA and in the AI research center AImotion, e.g., on the topics of accident research/automotive forensics or AI for cybersecurity and security of AI.
Qualifikationen:
- Master (and preferably PhD) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with a focus on cybersecurity for embedded or automotive systems
- Technical experience in automotive cybersecurity, embedded cybersecurity, or a similar field.
- Experience in Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA), e.g., ISO 21434
- Hands-on-experience in embedded systems
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
- A track record of publications that demonstrates the ability to publish in high-quality peer-reviewed conferences or journals in cybersecurity
- Project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communications skills in English (German language skills are a plus but not necessary).
