(Senior) Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/d)
Aufgaben:
As a driven Manufacturing Engineer you will work closely with the Tesla Engineering Germany product design team from the initial design phase through prototype development in the laboratory to full-scale production. During the entire product lifecycle you determine methods for product assembly and testing, provide design for manufacturing feedback, and lead the development of manufacturing processes and equipment to build new Tesla power electronics products.
Regularly review product designs and provide 'design for manufacturing' feedback to product design engineers throughout the entire design cycle
Take over development, including design and validation, of manufacturing equipment and fixtures to support early-stage prototype builds through medium-volume production
Specify and procure equipment required for all manufacturing processes and manage suppliers of customized manufacturing equipment through stages of specification, design, acceptance and installation
Create a production line layout that ensures optimal material flow and operational efficiency
Establish the sequence of processes for manufacturing the product and define the process controls required to repeatedly produce the product with consistent quality in high volumes
Perform process analysis, DOE, PFMEA, line balancing activities and capacity modeling/simulation
Author documentation to train technicians and line operators on new processes and equipment
Qualifikationen:
5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience working hands-on with mechanical or electromechanical systems, from early product until high volume production in rapid-paced, agile work environments
High-functioning interpersonal skills and exceptional English communication, with the ability to convey technical information through mechanical drawings using GD&T
Expertise in introducing new products and processes from prototyping into production phase, including a deep comprehension of Design for Manufacturability rules and their application
Proficiency in tolerance stackups, Gage R&R and statistical process control
Ability to design mechanical equipment, fixtures and tooling using CAD (SolidWorks preferred, CATIA is a plus)
Experience in creating technical specifications for manufacturing equipment and electromechanical hardware, preferably also already for electronic assembly (especially ESD or high voltage products)
Knowledge of either of the following will be additionally valued, but is not mandatory: advanced PLC programming, automated motion programming, SQL queries, data analysis software or data visualization using scripts
