Aufgaben:
The work packages of Leibniz-IPHT are related to the application of spectroscopy and imaging in the infrared range for the assessment of cancer. Tasks include the characterization of a demonstrator and the integration of dedicated data processing and classification routines that utilize the potential of entangled photon detection. A unique infrastructure of Fourier transformation infrared microspectrometers and quantum cascade laser coupled infrared microscopes with direct and optical-photothermal detection is available at the research group Raman and Infrared Analytics. - Collection of infrared spectra and images from cancer cells and tissues using the quantum microscope demonstrator - Application of algorithms for data preprocessing, data reduction, and data classification to analyze infrared spectra and images collected with the demonstrator - Definition of interfaces between software packages to integrate data processing and classification in the demonstrator - Consideration of complex properties of quantum light states in the data analysis workflow such as quantum statistics, quantum correlation and entangled photons which goes beyond conventional infrared spectroscopy. - Implementation of data processing pipeline into the software package of the demonstrator - Ex vivo study of the demonstrator at clinical partners including validation of results.
Qualifikationen:
- PhD degree in data sciences, bioinformatics or related disciplines - Expert knowledge in processing of infrared spectra and images using Matlab, Python or similar programs - Advanced expertise in biomedical infrared spectroscopy and chemometrics/machine learning which is proven by an adequate publication record. - Good command of written and spoken English
