PhD position in Host-Pathogen Interaction (m/w/d)
Aufgaben:
- Generation of Salmonella mutants
- Cell culture infection models
Qualifikationen:
- Reporter gene studies
- Successfully completed M.Sc. degree in the field of life sciences (biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine or similar)
- Hands-on experience working with bacteria
- Excellent skills of the English language (spoken and written) incl. presenting research data
- Willing to participate in the supervision of practical courses, Bachelor- and Master students
Experience in the following areas is an advantage:
- Molecular pathogenicity research with BSL2 organisms
- Hypoxia research
- Data analysis using R and/or Python, especially transcriptomics
- Molecular biology: cloning, mutagenesis, recombination
- Use of reporters (fluorescence, luminescence)
- Cell culture techniques, e.g. cell lines, organoids
- Microscopy, e.g. CLSM, live-cell imaging
